New Friends and Pen Pals
Two Late French Immersion classes (SD20 Southeast Kootenay) and SD23 (Okanagan Central) have paired up their students in order to become pen pals! This experience is allowing them to expand their circle of friends, to practice their French in an authentic way and to learn more about each other's history.
What a lovely idea. In Kamloops, we have a letter exchange with the first year French students at Thompson Rivers University. The Language Coordinator (me) dresses up as factrice and I pick up and deliver the letters. This fall, I had almost 100 letters in my courier bag. The students love it. For many it's the first time they get a letter. 😊
P.S. Costume thanks to Value Village.
